Scholarship Description: UNIDO PhD fellows are required to submit research proposals and conduct PhD research in areas that reflect contemporary industrial development issues. These relate to challenges and opportunities such as: The impact of industrialization on productivity, employment and equitable inclusive growth; Ongoing industrial process, including the decoupling of industrial value chain tasks; (iii) Processes of inter- and intra-sectoral structural change and their determinants; (iv) Processes associated with industrial technological change (e.g., innovation, transfer and diffusion); (v) The emergence of new players in industrial production and trade; (vi) Matters related to industrial policy issues, dynamics and determinants of sustainable industrial development in developing countries and countries with economies in transition, including environmental concerns in industrial development strategies, and energy efficiency and green industry related issues.
